RIDE THE ROLLER COASTER

Childrens Poetry & Rhyming Stories by David Bray

Myn and Darl were so excited waiting in the line
BB said, "I just felt shivers running down my spine."
"What a night!" said Mrs Chips, "Just look at all those stars"
"Yes," said Champ, "But now it's time to ride the dodgem cars"

Darl said, "Words just can't describe the feelings that I feel"
As she made a b-line for the funky ferris wheel
"I can see my house from here, it's right below the moon"
"That's not the moon," said BB, "That's a giant white balloon!"

Mrs Chips stepped off the ride, "It's nice to feel the ground!"
As the children dragged her to the new merry-go-round
They all bounced up and down on shiny horses made of wood
Myn had so much fun she said, "I'd live here if I could"

They walked down side-show alley playing every groovy game
And saw a street performer twirling fire sticks aflame
A skinny man was yelling, "Roll up, roll up, girls and boys,
Guess my weight and win a treasure chest half-full of toys!"

And then up in the distance, it was Champ who saw it first
"The roller coaster!" he exclaimed, he thought he'd surely burst
Excitement overtook him, "This is wonderful," he cried
As he leapt and ran towards the roller coaster ride
