A PRINCESS FROM THE OCEAN

Childrens Poetry & Rhyming Stories by David Bray

"Whale ahoy!" cried Nora and the crew knew what to do
They threw the anchor overboard into the water blue
"Prepare to dive," called Mrs Chips, "Be ready in a flash"
Then one by one they jumped into the ocean with a splash

Through her goggles Mrs Chips could see the mighty whale
As it breached and somersaulted, splashing with it's tail
It seemed to glide so gracefully, all poetry in motion
An underwater ballet with a princess from the ocean

Captain Pete blew bubbles through his snorkel as he kicked
The whale spun 'round and twisted, did a back-flip and it flicked
Little Gracie Garner rubbed her goggles with her glove
Mrs Chips had found another animal to love

Nora Nodd and Larry Lobb were holding hands and swimming
The whale flew up and breached again, it looked like it was skimming
Mrs Chips was mesmerised in underwater bliss
She puckered up and blew the whale a great, gigantic kiss

Then she felt the sunshine and the whale began to fade
The ocean dissapeared as sunlight danced where there was shade
Through her bedroom window she could see the morning sky
A cloud shaped like a humpback whale winked and waved goodbye
