Champ was in the backyard swinging on the swings
Myn was in the garden wearing fairy wings
Darl was on the front verandah with her hula hoop
BB grabbed the chicken feed and headed for the coop
Mrs Chips was in the kitchen baking up a cake
Nora Nodd was on the front lawn raking with a rake
Larry Lobb was on his way, he'd gone to buy some bread
Captain Pete the pilot flew his plane high overhead
Little Gracie Garner brought her playing cards and jacks
And Charlie Fripp was home alone ironing his slacks
Champ slid down the slippery dip and landed with a thud
Myn went to the back stairs with her shoes all caked in mud
Darl jumped up and turned around, shimmied, shook and ducked
BB fed the chickens as they scratched and pecked and clucked
Mrs Chips leaned out the window, "Come and get some cake!"
Before you knew it Nora Nodd was nowhere near the rake
Larry Lobb had just arrived and walked right through the gate
Captain Pete looked at his watch and said, "Oh no, I'm late!"
Gracie Garner was the first to put cake in her belly
While Charlie Fripp was home alone, cranky, bored and smelly
