HELLO LITTLE FISHES

Childrens Poetry & Rhyming Stories by David Bray

"I have an idea," BB whispered, "when I start just sing along"
Then he opened up his mouth and sang his favourite children's song
Myn joined in and Champ and Darl clapped and yelled out "Hey!"
They all cracked-up when Charlie Fripp squealed and ran away

The clouds dispersed and once again sunshine filled the air
The children sang a song about a moose with purple hair
Then they heard a voice so sweet, lilting, soft and mellow
Nora Nodd was on the shore, her swimmers were bright yellow

"Nora," BB shouted, "look at me, I am a whale"
Darl said "I'm a fearsome shark, ignore the pony-tail
Nora dipped her toe into the water, "Ow, it's freezing"
"Once you're in it's great," Champ grinned, "and I'm not only teasing"

"Here they come!" the children laughed, "It's Mrs Chips and Larry
And look at all the coconuts and kiwi-fruits they carry"
They sang of lychees, grapes and plums, a full-on fruity ballad
And everyone sat on the sand and feasted on fruit salad

"Thanks," said BB, Nora, Darl, Larry, Champ and Myn
"No worries," Mrs Chips replied with mango on her chin
"Today's the kind of day you always hope just never ends
There's no place I would rather be then with my special friends"
