HELLO LITTLE FISHES

Childrens Poetry & Rhyming Stories by David Bray

BB, Darl, Champ and Myn were swimming in the river
Mrs Chips was walking by, Larry Lobb was with her
Waving madly, Mrs Chips yelled "Hello, little fishes"
"We won't be long, I'm helping Larry clean his dirty dishes"

Champ and Darl were dolphins gliding underneath the water
Myn leapt up and spun around three times then BB caught her
"Look, there's Gracie Garner," pointed Darl toward the sand
"She has a plastic bucket and pink shovel in her hand"

"Hello Gracie, won't you come and swim with us today?"
"No thanks guys, I'm happy just to sit right here and play"
Captain Pete, the pilot flew his plane high overhead
The engine was so noisy little Gracie up and fled

BB filled his mouth and squeezed his cheeks to make a fountain
Then everybody jumped on him to make a human mountain
Darl and Myn pretended they were mermaids from the sea
Champ said "I'm a pirate, you'd better stay away from me!"

Then all at once a mighty shadow crept over the land
And Charlie Fripp was grumbling as he stood upon the sand
He couldn't stand to see the children having so much fun
He couldn't see the point of splashing water in the sun
