Flutterby Entertainment was born in 1999.

This is the story of a brother and a sister.

One cold, dark Tuesday, the brother was working in a warehouse in Sydney, Australia, driving forklifts and doing other boring stuff, when suddenly the phone rang.

On the other end of the line was his sister who lived in a magical, green place located approximately 500km north of Sydney, and she said, “I’ve got a great idea!”

The brother agreed that the idea was great and set about gathering all the tools required for making some of the funkiest children’s music known to humankind. At first it was not easy. The brother said things like, “I can’t write songs for kids,” and, “I’m not particularly fond of children’s music!”

Then one day it dawned on the brother – he needed inspiration……….and that inspiration came in the form of his three wonderful nieces (who just happened to be the lovely daughters of the sister).

The first kids song the brother wrote was called “Catch a fishy!” and he was immediately hooked (sorry about the pun). Over the following months the brother visited the sister in paradise and the sister visited the brother in the big city until one day they had written enough children’s songs to release their first personalized kids music CD (Songs for You).

The brother decided that driving forklifts was very boring compared to writing childrens music, so one day he told his boss he was leaving and then he left. He drove north for about seven hours until he landed in the magical green place where he is living happily ever after with the family he loves.

The name Flutterby Entertainment was made up by the sister. One beautiful, spring's morning she was drinking a cup of tea, admiring the forest in her backyard and humming childrens songs to herself. She was trying very hard to think of a suitable name for her new venture when she saw a gigantic butterfly with forty shades of blue flutterby. "That's it!" she thought, "from this day forward we shall be known as Flutterby!"

The rest, as they say, is history in the making.
